Nikon d80 Digital SLR Camera

I started all this in 2005 and have had some great experiences and met some awesome people, and now I'm hooked.

My first camera was a small Fuji finepix Zoom 2800. It was a great little camera, and really helped me get a feel for digital photography. However, it was only when I made the move the Nikon D70 Digital SLR that I started to properly understand photography. I now shoot with the Nikon D80 (pictured).

My advice to anyone interested in getting into photography...

Simply, get out there and take some pictures, you learn something with every shot, good or bad.

Why do I need to be over 18 to model for you?

I understand that there are a good number of excellent under 18 models out there, who are both experienced and professional. However I have made the personal decision not to work with under 18 for two reasons.

Firstly, I believe it is vital that women are allowed to develop a healthy perception of their bodies. In my opinion modeling puts too much pressure on young women to maintain there looks to an artificial standard. At a time when there body's are subject to the greatest change, the desire to maintain a 'commercial' look can be very dangerous.

A 2007 BBC Study into the the effect of body images on young people provided the following: -

Over 50% of girls aged 12 to 16 felt that their body image either stops them from getting a boyfriend or from relaxing in a relationship. Over 50% of young women aged 18 and under said they would have surgery to improve their looks and a third of those who are a size 12 think they are overweight. The typical age for the onset for an eating disorder is 14 to 25.

The second reason is that under UK law under 18s are considered minors. Images of minors that contain any form of sexual context, implied or otherwise are illegal. The definition of sexual context is subjective and open to interpretation. I only work with models over 18, and therefore have no concern as to the interpretation of my work.
