Personal Information

I am a single, life long non-smoker. I go to the gym twice a week. My Interests include playing the guitar, photography, kayaking and playing computer games.

Personnel Synopsis

I have a deep knowledge of XHTML and CSS technologies and a strong background in user interaction design for web-based applications.

My understanding of the fundamentals of web design allow me to deliver a consistent, standards compliant, user experience via multiple web browsers. I have also been actively involved in developing in house coding standards policies for VB, ASP, and C# projects.

Client side scripting

I am able to design modular, object-oriented JavaScript and use techniques such as AJAX to enhance user experience. I am familiar with using JavaScript libraries such as jQuery and MooTools to rapidly create standards compliant interaction.

Application Development

Over the last 10 years I have built up experience designing and implementing commercial web sites. I understand data driven application, database design and integration development using technologies such as VB.net, XML, XSLT, C#, ASP, ASP.net and PHP.

Rapid Design

I am experienced in producing wire frames and/or semi-functional prototypes prior to implementation, and use them to rapidly evolve projects as well as assess usability and accessibility issues.

Consultant Experience

I am an excellent communicator with experience in dealing directly with high profile clients. I combine a professional, friendly and relaxed approach with strong consultancy and analytical skills. I have worked on Government and Ministry of Defense projects primarily large scale distributed data management and workflow projects. Whilst working for the Ministry of Defense and worked under BC and SC security clearance.

Management Experience

I have had experience managing small teams on design and development projects. I experience interviewing candidates for both full at part time positions.

Design Experience

With the exception of Cinema 4D I have had a minimum of 6 years experience using these application in a professional capacity.

Adobe Fireworks, website, banner and branding design and development.
Adobe Dreamweaver, Including but not limited to using and building templates.
Adobe Flash, interactive presentation, banner animation and application development
Adobe Photoshop, Photograph processing or composition of photographic elements.
Cinema 4D, logo and component design and animations.

Development Experience

I have developed hand coded HTML and later XHTML website for over 10 years, utilising CSS and table-less design for the last 5. I am experienced with the use of Semantic mark-up and a developing ‘cross browser safe’ experience. I am proficient in delivering standards complainant code and understand usability and accessibility guidelines.
